Manimahesh Yatra, Himachal Pradesh , India.

Hey folks, I am back again to share experiences of journey that has a great significance to me. It was more like a pilgrimage than merely another trek. I have been a great lover of nature and find solace in the lap of Himalayas. I feel blessed and lucky that ‘Dev Bhumi Himachal’ is my birthplace. Among five KAILASHs, ‘Manimahesh’ is situated at a distance of 26KM (13 by bus/taxi and rest on foot) from Bharmour town of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh. It is located in ‘Pir Panjal’ Range of the Himalayas. There is a lake called ‘Dal’ at an altitude of approx. 13,500 feet opposite to the Manimahesh Peak. Every year, on the 8th day of the half-moon in the month of ‘Bhadon’, thousands of pilgrims take this journey to take a dip in the holy waters. Trek to Deoriatal, Chopta and Chandrashila Peak (Uttarakhand, India)

It's been month since I'd finished another outing in the lap of Himalayas. But, I was too busy to pen down the journey & experiences of my first outing in Uttrakhand. ‘Churdhar’ in  Sirmour  district of Himachal Pradesh was the last trek I'd completed before the fall of winter 2016. My trek buddy Navjeet Singh and I have been discussing about next destination for couple of days and finally worked out a plan to attempt Deorital , Chopta, Tungnath and Chandrashila in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. This being our first excursion in Uttarakhand, we wanted to have feel of culture, people and geographical situation hence decided to travel by public transport.
